Why the change?

It's more in line with my genre for one thing.

It's also less for me to manage and take care of, because I've switched from Wordpress to BookBub's Author Websites platform. Sure. It costs a little more, but I'd much rather pay the few dollars a month to take some stress away and tasks off my to-do list.

Finally, it's a way to break with the unproductive past where I didn't do anything on the site. That's not to say I absolutely will post more here, but it's a way to interrupt the pattern as Tony Robbins would say. 

Will I post more? Hopefully. I'm hoping to post about once a week or so. Sometimes more. Sometimes less. As I get closer to completing For The Time Being, I'll post some updates and maybe excerpts. I'll let you know about where I'm at in the book and when and where it will be published. Might be a small press publisher. Might be self-published. We'll see.

One thing I will try to do here is create a sense of community with my readers and fans. If you've ever been to a book fair or writer's conference, you'll know why. There's a special relationship between readers and authors. Authors provide good stories for entertainment, reflection, escapism and the thrill of discovering new worlds to explore. Readers provide the audience, the sales and income and feedback.

Authors also offer a sense of community and shared vision to their committed readers and other authors. The best part about book fairs and cons is when I get to talk to others about their work, the craft of writing and what makes them want to write. Or read whatever it is they're reading.

That's my goal for this site. To recreate a little of that community, interaction and discussion.
